4-5 miles. Some steep parts and some scrambles. Great Hudson River views.

Location/Directions:

Storm King Butterhill Trail parking area - Route 9W Parking, Cornwall, NY - 

Take the Palisades Interstate Parkway North to the Bear Mountain Traffic Circle. At the circle take the 3rd exit onto Rte 9W North. Stay on 9W for 8.5 miles. The parking area will be on your right, marked by a blue "Parking Area" sign on 9W. Inside the parking area, not visible from 9W is a yellow-on-blue historical marker entitled “Freedom Road”. This parking area can only be accessed heading north. If you pass the lot you will need to make a u-turn on the next road (Mountain Rd).
