Location/Directions:
(County) Route 106, Kanawauke Road, NY - SECOND parking lot
There are 5 parking areas on Route 106 between Route 17 North and Seven Lakes Drive. We will number them going from West to East. From the West: I-87 North to Exit 15A, Sloatsburg, Route 17N. At the end of the exit ramp turn left on to Route 17N. Stay 7.4 miles on 17N through Sloatsburg and Tuxedo Park to the intersection of 17A (at a traffic light). Turn slight left to take the Route 17A ramp. Go the short distance up the ramp and turn right onto Route 106 into Harriman State Park. The FIRST parking area is a short distance on the left. Follow this road past Lake Stahahe (on your left) and continue around the turn to the SECOND parking lot (this one on the right hand side of the road (2.4 miles from where you got onto Rt 106). The THIRD lot is up the road on the left near the Victory Trailhead. The FOURTH (N41o 13.666' W74o 08.909') a bit further, also on the left, at a point where the Ramapo-Dunderberg (red) Trail crosses the road. There are actually two parking areas here, one next to the other. The FIFTH lot is at the Picnic Area by Lake Kanawauke, a short distance from the Lake Kanawauke traffic circle.
Note: Do NOT use GPS for this location - it will take you to a totally different area.
