Bike Rides
Bike Rides are easy-to-moderate one-day outings for members who would like to try cycling with a friendly, non-competitive group. These rides are moderately paced on generally flat or rolling, well-maintained bike trails or country roads. They will be from 10 AM to 2 PM, and average from 15 to 25 miles.
Each participant must bring a bike in good working order and must wear an ANSI or SNELL standard helmet that fits. If you do not have a suitable bike, contact Mary (973-644-3592) about the possibility of finding a "loaner" for the day.

Paulinskill Trail Bike Ride Hunterdon County/Columbia Trail Bike Ride
Sunday, September 18, 2011 (Moderate/Moderate)
Because of the recent weeks of rain, the originally scheduled Paulinskill Trail is and will continue to be too wet for our ride. Instead we will use part the Columbia Trail and will extend the ride onto quiet roads in beautiful Hunterdon County. We will follow the South Branch of the Raritan River but will be riding above the river, not next to it . . . . high and dry. The scenery is lovely and much of it will be new to AFW riders. With difficulty and pace ratings of moderate, this 25 – 30 mile ride is not for beginners.
