Adventures For Women, founded by Betsy Thomason, is a non-profit organization, one of the few "women only" outdoor clubs in the U.S.
We bring women, 18 years or older, of all abilities together...
- to share adventures and camaraderie
- to learn new skills and develop confidence
- to gain new insights and experiences
We are an eclectic organization that loves to explore and is equally at home in the woods, the suburbs, or the city. We pride ourselves on providing ample opportunities for women to empower, improve and define themselves.

AFW 30th Anniversary Celebration
Saturday, March 10, 2012
St. Alban's Church, Oakland, NJ
Adventures for Women recently turned 30 and we are marking this milestone with a celebration! Come join us for a day of fun on Saturday, March 10th. Guests are welcome. We will gather at St. Alban’s Church in Oakland, NJ around 1:30PM, ready to participate in any or all of the following events:
- 2PM-3:30PM -- "Intro to Self Defense" led by Rick Hammond of the Ramsey Adult School
- 3:30PM-4:30PM -- Snacks and chitchat
- 4:30PM-5:20PM -- Zumba Gold (for seniors) led by Silva Acosta
- 5:30PM-7:30PM -- Pot luck dinner. Please bring a favorite dish to share that will serve 4 to 6 people (hors d'oeuvres, main dish, salad or dessert).
